A Messy Bun is One of Our Favorite Hairstyle’s at KaRu Salon

A messy bun is a one of our favorite hairstyle’s at KaRu Salon. It is a chic and stylish look that can be worn for many occasions. It looks great at work, for school, a wedding, and an evening party. This fashionable look takes minutes to acheive and looks effortless. One of our favorite stars to have mastered the messy bun  is Gwen Stefani. First off, check out this awesome “how to” video we shot:

She looks fabulous  in a chic top knot bun that is whispy and soft. A whispy bun worn on top of the head will elongate a woman’s neck and add height to the body.  A messy bun can have a different feel depending on the area of the head that it is placed. When worn in the middle a messy bun looks classic and sophisticated. A messy bun looks modern off to the side and more fashion forward on top of the head. Follow these steps on how to style a messy bun from our hair experts at KaRu Salon.

First,  you must prepare dry hair with a light hairspray such as UNITE GO365 for volume and hold. If your hair is straight you will need to curl it to add texture. Then pull your hair back into a ponytail to the area that you would like to place your messy bun. Next, bobby pin ends to the head in a random fashion until it looks balanced. Remember, the style looks best when it is imperfect and tousled so you can’t mess up! Finish with a medium to heavy hold hairspray to secure the messy bun hairstyle.
