Kari’s passion for hair colour transcends through her work as she paints each head of hair like a canvas.  Drawing inspiration from nature and textiles, she paints new light into dull locks adding shine, dimension and texture.  Kari’s niche is providing beautiful classic hair colour with an artist’s eye to bring out everyone’s individual style.  Combining her creativity with her integrity of maintaining the health of the hair, Kari will custom blend a palette designed to enhance your physical features, personality and lifetstyle. She is well known for her brilliant reds and natural looking highlights.

Tina Spears

Master Colorist

Over the last 10 years, Tina has established herself as a highly accomplished color artist who considers hair an artistic expression of personal beauty. She has recently returned to Austin after spending a year in New York City, where she attended countless classes in advanced training in the art of coloring hair.

In addition to being the recipient of Aveda’s prestigious Hair Color Artist of the Year Award, Spears has trained with some of the industries most influent educators such as David Adams, John Raymen, and Ted Gibson, just to name a few. From editors and models to actresses and executives, clients love Tina’s color for its chic and complimentary wearability. Her attention to detail combined with a naturally artistic eye, and a positive upbeat vibe keeps Spears remaining one of the industries most highly respected and sought out hair color experts.

Tim Patrick

Junior Stylist

Tim found his home in Austin in 2008. Inspired by music, great food , captivating cities, and the rugged nature of the American West, his travels found a home base in the capitol of Texas. After years of enriching friendships with musicians, hairdressers and artists, Tim was inspired to enroll in cosmetology school. Studying the cutting techniques of Vidal Sassoon. Immediately Tim was taken under the wing of Mentor Rudolph Leon-Guerrero and recruited to help build a home at KaRu Salon. His cutting style portrays an elegant geometry that is softened for an optimal suitability for anyone in his chair. Tim is sure to warm you with his smile and sense of humor plus get you stopped by strangers asking , “who does your hair?”.

Natalie Camarillo

Protege

Natalie hails from the border town of El Paso, Texas. Growing up in a community rich with culture and a family of artists, she knew at an early age that she would follow in those footsteps and allow her creativity to inspire what direction her life would take. Graduating top of her class in 2010, she made her way to Austin shortly after and has been vigilantly working toward perfecting her craft, starting at a blow dry bar were she mastered the art of a great blowout and style. She has progressed to a new chapter of her career and to a new home at Karu Salon where is working under Master Colorist, Kari Leon-Guererro. Her warmth and smile will be sure to make you feel at ease but her skill will keep you coming back for more!

Michael Price

Senior Stylist and Colorist

With more than fifteen years’ experience in the industry Michael Price has built his career around knowledge, creativity and a passion or his work. Michael started his career in 1997 at Avalon in Dallas, an Aveda Concept salon. He was an educator for Rusk and received advance training with Goldwell and Aquage. As a Rusk educator Michael taught Rusk haircutting, chemical services and color techniques. As a perfectionist,  Michael has always sought after education to create new looks for his clients. “Knowledge equals confidence and consistency” is Michael’s philosophy and that has been the  foundation of his training.  A life dedicated to learning and creativity have been a driving force since childhood.

Outside of the salon Michael is deeply involved with modern circus performing with multimedia performance art troupes as an aerialist and acrobat.
