Spring is in the air! As seasons change, so should your hair! Spring haircut and color trends are anywhere from bold to  bright to soft and simple. With so many options, choosing your new Spring hair cut and color will be the hardest part!

Short hair is more popular now than it has been since the Meg Ryan haircut trend of the 90’s. We are seeing more choppy short and sexy haircuts than ever before with celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hatthaway chopping off their tresses. Our favorite Spring haircuts are the asymetrical pixie, choppy lob and tousled long layers with fringe.  These haircuts have a lived in feel with soft layers and subtle textures.  The UNITE Texuriza Spray is the perfect product to create this tousled texture by adding fullness and volume without adding weight.

Spring hair color trends range from natural ombre’s to color melting several hues giving a multi-dimensional look.   If you want a slightly edgy to bold look,  Spring time is the perfect time to play with pastels! Hues such as Rose, apricot, amethyst, mint and sky blue will compliment soft colors in your wardrobe for Spring. Pastels look stunning on blonde hair and can be placed below your part line so they are just peeking through to give subtle dimension. We have been getting incredible results with Wella Instamic color to create pastel colors  and they can be customized depending on your comfort level.

Another hot look this year is Ecaille hair color which means ‘tortoiseshell’ in French. Ecaille and ombre hair color are popular requests at KaRu Salon.  Ecaille is  a darker more natural version of ombre with softer highlights closer to the roots and lighter caramel or golden tones near the ends. For clients who already have ombre color, this look is very easy to transition into by just placing subtle highlights closer to the root.
